National Public School, Kengeri, organized a workshop on Financial Literacy for the students of Grade 7, on 3rd March 2026. The session was conducted as a step beyond the regular curriculum to provide students with practical financial insights and real-world knowledge about money management. The resource person for the session was Mr. Raghav Chakravarthy, founder of ‘Q Shala’. The initiative aimed to equip students with essential financial skills at an early age.
Mr. Raghav explained various financial concepts through interesting activities and real-life examples. The students were shown different pictures and were asked to decode how each image was connected to money, business, or people. This activity encouraged critical thinking and active participation. It also helped the students to understand how money plays an important role in our daily lives. Mr. Raghav also explained the concept of SIP (Systematic Investment Plan) and compound interest in a simple manner. He shared the famous quote by Albert Einstein, “Compound interest is the 8th wonder of the world,” and demonstrated how small, consistent investments can grow significantly over time.
The key highlight of the session was the concept of the 3 S’s – Saving, Spending, and Sharing. The students learnt the importance of saving money for future needs, spending wisely on essentials, and sharing or donating to help others. This helped them understand financial responsibility along with social values. The students were informed about the existence, struggles, innovative ideas, and success stories of well-known global brands. They learnt how these companies started from small beginnings and gradually grew into successful global enterprises. This workshop provided valuable insights into entrepreneurship, branding, strategic planning, and the importance of perseverance in achieving success. It created curiosity and awareness among students about financial responsibility, smart decision-making, and the value of hard work. It was an enriching experience which made the students to think creatively about money and business in a practical and meaningful way. The students thoroughly enjoyed the session, actively participated, and found it both fun and meaningful.
Overall, the workshop was insightful and inspired students to think wisely about saving, investing, and financial planning.
