School Schedule

The school teaching programme developed by NPS has classes which are interactive and spontaneity is actively encouraged. Thus hands-on activity is seamlessly woven with extensive and focused exercises for reinforcement. The objective is to approach knowledge from a holistic development style, which ensures that the student actively participates in the learning process. Sports with multi-faceted co-curricular activities are woven into the daily school schedule, to ensure that a healthy body nourishes an active mind.

  • The school begins at 8.15 am and finishes at 2.45 pm on all weekdays.
  • The school gates (Gate No. 1, 2 and 3) open at 7.50 am. All students are expected to reach the school before the bell rings at 8.15 am. The school gates will be closed as soon as the bell rings.
  • School functions half day on I, II & IV Saturdays. Timing 8.15 am to 12.25 noon.

ASSEMBLY

  • Every school day begins with the assembly. This helps in instilling a sense of discipline – of the body and the mind – right at the beginning of the day.
  • Students from Class-1 and above, congregate on the school ground in an orderly manner. The Saraswathi mantra and Guru Bhrama Guru Vishnu mantra followed by the school prayer sung by them brings about a state of meditation, rendering peace and tranquility to the atmosphere. This is an ideal way to enhance the concentration much required by students and teachers alike, throughout the day.
  • The school song, a symbol of pride and honour for the school, is sung on the first two days of the week, Naada Geethe – “Jaya Bharata Jananiya Tanujate” on Wednesday and “Sare Jahan se Accha” on Thursday and “The more you give, The more you get” on Fridays. This reiterates the sense of unity and belonging among the students.
  • A pledge and some useful quotations provide food for thought to one and all. A special theme based assembly is organized by anyone class & section in a scheduled manner every day during assembly.
  • This interactive session proves to be most invigorating. A bit of commotion complements this motivating activity early in the morning.

THE SCHOOL PRAYER

This is my prayer to thee, my lord,
Strike, strike at the root of
penury in my heart.

Give me the strength lightly to bear
my joys and sorrows.

Give me the strength to make
my love fruitful in service.

Give me the strength never to
disown the poor or bend
my knees before insolent might.

Give me the strength to raise
my mind high above daily trifles.

And give me the strength to surrender
my strength to thy will with love.

THE SCHOOL HYMN

God, help us to reach out to others
In the midst of our darkness shining
Let the light of our alma mater shine on us
Set us free from the shackles of ignorance
Shine on us – Shine on us

Shine let it shine
Fill our school with honour and glory
Blaze, spirit, blaze
Set our hearts on fire
Flow, river, flow
Flood our nation with peace and harmony
Help us reach out, reach high, reach beyond

God, help us to reach high above us
Keep our feet ever firm on the ground
God, we come to your mighty presence
From the shadow into your radiance
Shine on us – Shine on us
