READING FEST 2014

Reading Fest 2014 conducted on 26.11.14 to 29.11.14

“READING IS SUCCEEDING”

To enlighten the young minds about good reading habit, few programmes were categorised for the students according to their respective grades.

Day One, Wednesday, 26th November 2014 began with the story telling session for KG2, Grade 1 & 2 by Mrs. Mathangi Rajasekaran from Spark Kindler. To piqued students imagination the guest posed open ended questions to students. Students’ imagination was boundless as they answered. This session truly kindled the imagination of the kids.

Day Two, Thursday, 27th November 2014 was exclusively organised for Class V to VIII. This day Mr.Shamya Das Gupta an Indian author was invited for “Meet the Author” session. He spoke about his book “Cricket Changed My Life”. He advised children to grow with the healthy passion and encouraged them to write anything which inspires them so that everything they write would be the stride to their success. Children added warmth by posing interesting questions to satiate their curiosity. This interaction found endless as the questions were quite interesting and the author patiently answered to their queries.

Day Three, Friday, 28th November 2014 came up with the theme “ONE NATION READING TOGETHER”. All teachers and students from Grade 1 to 8 were involved in reading the book they carried for a span of 30 minutes. Later they were asked to write a review about their reading. This majorly aimed to instil love for reading and inculcate reading habits in the young minds so as to explore in their future endeavour.

26th Nov’ 14 to 28th Nov’ 14 – was the most awaited – The Book Fair – for students Grade 1 to 8 during the school hours. Our Trustee Mr. Avinash and Principal Mrs. Geeta Dikshit inaugurated the Book Fair. Students first scanned through the books for put for sale. Few students made up to the opportunity and purchased the books of their choice.

Day Four, Saturday, 29th November 2014 was the concluding day. A Book Fair for parents was organised by Scholastic India Pvt. Ltd., inside the school premises. A large number of parents along with their wards visited the fair and walked out with a handful of books marking the fair a grand success.
