Hindi Workshop

Integrating Social-Emotional Learning into classroom practices and school culture

Hindi Workshop

A Hindi workshop was organised by Full Marks Publications, on 24 August 2026, at Sanctum Hotel, Gandhi Nagar. The workshop was conducted by Ms. Neeru Bugra, from Faridabad, currently working in Noida as a Head Coordinator – Hindi. Around 100 teachers participated in the workshop. The participants were seated in groups of six to encourage interaction and collaborative learning.

The workshop began with an interactive discussion in which Ms. Neeru Bugra asked the teachers about the common problems they face in the classroom. This helped create an open and engaging environment and allowed teachers to share their experiences. She then discussed various practical tips and strategies to maintain students’ interest and attention throughout the class. The suggestions were simple, practical and easy to implement in the classroom.

The workshop focused on Listening Skills and Speaking Skills. For the listening activity, teachers in each group were asked to remember and share details such as the names, favourite colours and favourite fruits of the other members of their group. This was an enjoyable activity that demonstrated how listening can be developed through simple and engaging classroom tasks.

For developing speaking skills, each group was given one sentence. The teachers were then asked to use that sentence as a starting point and build a short story around it. This activity encouraged creativity, imagination, teamwork and spontaneous speaking. It also demonstrated how speaking activities can be made interesting and interactive for students.

The resource person also gave a brief and useful explanation of balanced question paper preparation. She highlighted the importance of maintaining a proper balance among different types and levels of questions so that the question paper assesses students’ understanding, application and language skills effectively.

Overall, the workshop was highly interactive, informative and practical. The activities provided valuable ideas that can be directly incorporated into the classroom to improve students’ listening and speaking skills and to make Hindi lessons more engaging. The session was well organised and gave teachers an opportunity to learn, participate and exchange ideas. It was truly a worthwhile and enriching experience. It provided practical strategies, meaningful activities and useful insights that will certainly help in making classroom teaching more effective and engaging.
