Kannada Rajyothsava CELEBRATIONS
National Public School, Bangalore Kengeri celebrated the 60th Kannada Rajyothsava with vigour and grandeur. The theme was ‘NaadinaKaligalu’. Chairperson Sri. Avinash.H.E, Secretary Smt. Divya. B.S and the Principal Mrs. Geeta Dikshit presided the occasion. The programme started with lighting the lamp followed by song, dance and drama depicting the valiant people who had selflessly fought to uphold the culture and heritage of Karnataka. The plethora of events in the celebrations were – Welcome Dance (depicting various historical places in Karnataka), speech on the significance of celebrating Kannada Rajyothsava, Mono – Acting (depicting the brave king Mayura who belonged to Kadamba dynasty) a group song (naadakattuvevu) Debate (role of man and woman in shaping a conducive society), dance (vishwavinoothana), drama by students of primary class and a dance drama by nursery students which stole the show.
Speaking on this occasion, Principal spoke about the beauty and simplicity of Kannada language and encouraged students to learn Kannada. She emphasized on the importance of learning Kannada and threw light on the tolerance and peace – loving nature of Kannadigas. Her speech generated a sense of pride in the minds of the audience for being a part of a culture that is so rich and vibrant.
The whole celebration was indeed a treat to the eyes.
