School Cinema is an innovative and powerful life skill education program that uses films based on real-life situations, to teach children, essential values and emotional intelligence. In today’s media-saturated world, it is imperative that we guide students towards content that not only entertains but also educates and inspires.
Unlike conventional film-viewing, School Cinema is designed to promote critical thinking and emotional growth. The program uses age-appropriate, real-life based stories to help students develop key life skills such as empathy, resilience, self-awareness, and decision-making. These cinematic experiences mirror everyday challenges and situations, enabling students to connect with characters, understand consequences, and learn valuable lessons in a natural, engaging manner.
As part of our school’s initiative, a School Cinema Implementation Training Session was conducted on 29th May 2025. This insightful session was led by Ms. Debjani, a skilled and experienced trainer. The training session provided the teachers with practical strategies and tools to effectively integrate School Cinema into classroom learning. It empowered them to facilitate meaningful discussions and reflections that extend beyond the screen.
Overall, the session was not only informative and enriching but also an essential step towards fostering a strong culture of life skills education within our school community.
